“Urquhart is remarkable in her chameleon-like transformations and vocal energy…she’s electric to
watch and she never fails to delight!”
Theatrepeople review (for TV Live On Stage 2011)
Sheona has enjoyed many various facets of the Entertainment industry since graduating from Australia’s prestigious Victorian College of the Arts.
Sheona traveled the world as a singer onboard P&O and Princess Cruise ships. After deciding to return to solid ground, she landed a role on Australia’s popular soapie ‘Neighbours’ as the bitchy Candace Carey during 2009 and 2010.
Sheona has also written and performed in the live and online comedy duo hit TV Live On Stage. Boasting over 340,000 Youtube views and two sell-out seasons of their live show, TV Live on Stage showcased Sheona’s natural knack for comedy, characterization and writing music parodies.
Between 2009 and 2013, Sheona was a founding member, choreographer and occasional arranger of Australia’s sensational pop a cappella group Ginger and Tonic. After debuting on Australia’s Got Talent, Ginger and Tonic went on to perform all over Australia, earning various a cappella awards. The group’s first album ‘Shake It!’ was released in 2011, just before the group’s tour to Germany. Ginger and Tonic featured at many renowned festivals including Queenscliffe Music Festival, Midsumma, Port Fairy Folk Festival and Adelaide Fringe festival, where their show ’50 Shades of Gay’ was awarded Best Music by the Adelaide Advertiser.
Sheona also worked in commercial radio in Australia, on Melbourne’s number 1 radio station, Fox FM, writing and broadcasting her own comedic segment on The Matt and Jo Breakfast show.
Since moving to London, Sheona’s focus has been on her main love of music, working as a session and backing vocalist and saxophonist for various projects and artists around London.
