Dave Birnie

a professional guitarist based in London and Buckinghamshire.

 was born in Aberdeen but moved to London in 1999 to study at the Guitar Institute on their Diploma and Degree courses.

Since graduating, has played and recorded with many bands/artists and  taught in numerous schools/colleges.

Also currently a member of The Counterfeit Stones (the world’s most successful Rolling Stones tribute act).Has toured extensively with this group, playing theatres and corporate events internationally.

he has taught at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (formally called the Guitar Institute) since 2005. and also teaching  at Wellington College in Berkshire and does private guitar lessons.

Has also recorded for various projects including numerous Channel 4 documentaries and the movie 'Stoned'.
